European Forum: The Seoul Declaration on Safety and Health at Work

The European Forum for the Seoul Declaration on Safety and Health was held 4 November 2009 at the A+A Conference in Dusseldorf, Germany. High-level representatives from public administrations, occupational safety and health networks and the business community joined forces to promote a worldwide prevention culture by signing the Düsseldorf Statement in support of the Seoul Declaration.

The ISSA Section for Education and Training aims to promote training as an integral part of a culture of prevention in health and safety. In July 2009, the Section reviewed the Seoul Declaration and included it in the preamble of its Lisbon Charter.

First Anniversary of the Seoul Declaration

A ceremony to mark the first anniversary of the publication of the Seoul Declaration on Safety and Health at Work was hosted by the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency (KOSHA) on 29 June 2009 in Seoul. The ceremony, attended by the ISSA President, Mrs. Corazon de la Paz-Bernardo, and Dr. Toru Itani, Director of the PROTRAV department of the International Labour Office (ILO), as well as tripartite representatives from the Republic of Korea, culminated in the signing by participants of a statement of support for the Seoul Declaration.
